Christian Dezelu
Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist
Young People (aged 16+)
Adults
Hi, my name is Christian and I’m a qualified Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Person-Centred Therapy and Attachment Theory to help clients aged 16+ with a wide range of issues.
An integrative approach allows me to combine elements of these three different but complementary approaches to tailor sessions to your needs as a client, and to provide a safe, supportive space to talk and work through issues at your own pace.
My areas of experience include helping with anxiety and depression, trauma, relationships, addiction, grief and loss. I’ve worked both short-term in industrial workplace settings and charities, and long-term in private practice settings.
I began my counselling journey as a trainee therapist for a year at Sunrise Wellbeing, so I’m really pleased to be back as a qualified associate therapist.
In summer 2025 I gained my BACP-accredited Postgraduate Diploma (Level 7) qualification in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of Derby.
I’m currently working towards a research-based MSc exploring men’s experiences of counselling, which I am due to complete in summer 2026. I also have a BA (Hons) Degree in Psychology. I am a BACP member.
My ongoing continued professional development has also included attending workshops and courses in perinatal mental health, loss and bereavement, sleep problems, working with trauma, self-care and a foundation certificate in single-session therapy.
