Kara is an integrative children and young people’s counsellor who offers face-to-face and online sessions. She is in The Nook on Monday afternoons and evenings.

Kara works with young people who are struggling with a variety of issues, including low self-esteem, anxiety, dealing with a family breakup, bereavement, and low mood. She also has a great deal of experience of working with young people with ADHD and Autism. She has worked with children and young people in a variety of roles for almost 20 years and has a good understanding of child and youth development. She is empathetic and caring and works using a variety of creative methods to help her clients in whatever way works for them.

Kara has a BA Hons degree in Childhood and Youth Studies and a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People. She is a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society. She takes part in regular supervision and follows the ethical practice of both of these bodies. Kara believes that it is important to continue to learn so she has done regular continuing professional development in areas such as trauma, neurodiversity, and understanding and race and diversity.
