Leah is an Integrative* counsellor specialising in working with children, young people, and families across Leicestershire. She is also an active researcher, exploring children and young people’s emotional experiences in and beyond the therapy room and, more recently, the importance of the parent-therapist relationship and how difference and diversity shape the therapeutic connection.
Leah has worked in various helping roles, supporting children and young people across their development, including as an Early Years Practitioner, Dance Teaching Assistant, Playworker and Pastoral/Nurture Support Assistant. She is passionate about supporting individuals with their current and past difficulties, tailoring her approach to the unique needs of each child, young person or family she works with - creating a warm, collaborative space for exploration and growth.
Qualifications:
• MSc in Counselling Children and Young People
• PG Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People
• PG Certificate in Counselling Children and Young People
• BSc (Hons) Degree in Psychology (Counselling) (BPS Accredited)
• Ongoing Professional Development, including Anxiety, Depression, Attachment, Neurodiversity, Trauma, Bereavement, Safeguarding, etc.
Leah undertakes regular supervision and professional development in accordance with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) ethical framework. She holds a current enhanced DBS and is a Registered Member of the BACP. Leah practices from The Sunrise Nook in Groby (LE6), providing 1:1 counselling to children and young people aged 5-24.

* As an integrative therapist, Leah draws on various therapeutic approaches to tailor support for each client. These include person-centred, systemic, cognitive behavioural (CBT), attachment-focused, play and creative therapies. Her practice is trauma-informed and relational, offering a safe and responsive environment where clients can explore and heal at their own pace.
