Millicent is a qualified Psychotherapeutic counsellor with a MSc in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Derby. Millicent is driven to provide a service that helps support adults and people of 16 + within a safe, confidential environment. In sessions Millicent is compassionate and empathic, demonstrating a deep understanding of your concerns and needs. Millicent aims to provide a safe space to unpack and process difficult times or concerning issues, a place to build your confidence whilst also educating you in ways to self-manage difficult times. She uses a combination of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Attachment Theory and Person-Centred Therapy in an integrative way.

Some of the difficulties Millicent has experiencing of supporting are:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Emotional regulation

  • Sleep related concerns

  • Relationships

  • Self-harm

  • Abuse (emotional, sexual, substance)

  • Eating related concerns

  • Low self-esteem/ self-compassion

  • Grief and Bereavement

Millicent holds an enhanced DBS, is insured, and is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). She follows their ethical framework and guidelines using engaging in professional development courses and fortnightly supervision to further her development as a therapist. Millicent practices from her home practice in Anstey and from the Sunrise Wellbeing Nook in Groby where she provides 1:1 face-to-face therapy sessions for Young People (16+) and Adults.
